Happy Spring everyone.

Spring is officially here. The Spring equinox (March 21st) has just passed, so we should all be looking forward to longer, sunnier days.

How is everyone? Did any of you manage to catch the last rugby match of the 6 Nations on March 20th? Unfortunately, England lost by only 2 points to France, paving the way for France's grand slam win of the 6 Nations tournament. Did you see it? What did you think of France's performance this year? Jennifer and I watched it amongst a huge crowd of rugby enthousiasts and had a great time. Which team do you think we were supporting?

Let us know how you all are getting on...

Take care,
Ann

Jennifer and I have just published the new English courses we will be offering this year, so please be sure to check them out!

In addition to the summer programs for college and lycee students, we are offering an intensive English program over the Easter holidays for lycee students. (Great for anyone about to take their BAC)

For more detailed information regarding the courses (English and French), please refer to the pages connected to the blog.

We were so lucky to have a great group of students last summer and are looking forward to seeing some old familiar faces, as well as some new ones.

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well and enjoying the school holidays. Are any of you going skiing? Or have you chosen sunnier, warmer destinations?

I am staying home this year. I usually go skiing during the February holidays, but not this year. I have just returned home after spending a month in England doing my teaching certification to teach English as a foreign language. It is great to be home!

After a long spell of very cold, snowy weather, spring is in the air. We've had blue skies and much warmer temperatures the last few days. Let's hope it lasts.

Most excitingly at my house, we've had 4 new lambs born in the last week. They are really adorable!

Looking forward to hearing about your winter holidays...

Happy New Year everyone!

Did you had a good holiday season. Did father Christmas come to your house this year? I hope no one got coal in their stocking! How did you celebrate?

Our Christmas festivities began on Christmas eve with a Christmas drink and mince pies at a local English pub and was followed up by a traditional Swedish Christmas meal, in honor of our Swedish connections. As is tradition in our family, we then did the burning of letters to father Christmas so that he would be able to read the smoke and know each child's Christmas wish. All the kids hung their stockings and there was then much discussion as to what father Christmas' snack should be. It was finally decided that being a jolly, plump man he would probably like a nice assortment of Christmas cake, mince pies, chocolates and sausage rolls. The reindeer of course always like carrots. As my son said, “Father Christmas is a very nice man and because he's so busy at Christmas he probably gets really hungry. Let's leave him lots.”

Christmas morning was a whirlwind of excitement and presents, and everyone was delighted to discover that father Christmas had come. Thanks to my sister-in-law's excellent culinary skills we had a fantastic dinner with Christmas pudding for dessert. The lighting of the Christmas pudding while all singing “We wish you a Merry Christmas” is probably my favorite Christmas tradition.
Do you have any favorite family Christmas traditions?

I hope 2010 is getting off to a good start for you. I wish you and your friends and family good health, happiness and prosperity in the New Year.
Take Care, Ann
